How do I know when there is a new event?
New events will be announced in both the Events > Information
subforum as well as the Announcements subforum.
How do I create a team?
Head on over to https://oc.tc/teams
and click the “New Team”
button. Choose a team name and invite players you wish to join!
How do I invite a player to my team?
To invite players to your team, simply go to your team page by
clicking the team name on your profile and at the bottom you will see an
“Add Members” section.
Simply type the name of the player you want to add and press “Enter” to
invite them!
How do I join a team?
First, to let others know you are looking for a team, post to the “LFT” subforum,
or comment on a thread in the “LFM” subforum.
When you are invited to join a team, you will receive a notification. Click
that notification to be taken to the team page where you are able to accept or decline the
invitation.
How do I leave a team?
If you are registered for the event, you will not be able to leave
until the event has finished. To do so, visit your team page
(oc.tc/teams/[team name here]) and click the Leave button.
How do I register for an event?
When an event is announced, you will see it’s banner posted under
current tournament on https://oc.tc/tournaments. When you
click the current tournament, you will be taken to its information page
where you will find a brief description and a button that says
“Register”. You may then select the teammates that would like to play in
the event (the maximum and minimum amount are in the information thread
that is posted when an event is announced). The teammates you have
selected to play must then go to the tournament page and confirm that
they are playing in the tournament. Once all of the selected players have
confirmed, your team will be confirmed for the tournament.
What should I know before I participate in an
event?
All of the details for the current event are posted under Events >
Information. Read the information thread and take note of the
important dates and Team Information. Also be sure to read the network rules.
How can I practice the tournament maps with my
team?
Before the tournament, we open up scrimmage servers for each team.
These servers work a lot like the official tournament servers and you can
set the tournament maps and play scrimmages against other teams. To find
a scrimmage, post a thread to the “Looking For
Scrimmage” subforum.
How do I talk to my teammates in the tournament?
During the tournament we require teams to use a voice service called
Discord which can be downloaded here. You
must use discord for your communication. On our discord server we have
setup rooms for all the teams participating. When your team has been
confirmed to participate in the tournament, your teamleader has to send
an email to [email protected] with their Discord name & tag (e.g.
username#1234). The team leaders will then be contacted and asked to
provide the Discord information for their team members. The discord link
to join the specific discord for the Tournament can be found on the information
thread
When should I be ready for my match?
You should be ready and in mumble 30 minutes before your match. Please
stay undeafened when in mumble so you can hear when a Referee comes to
speak with you.
What happens if I can’t show up?
If you can’t show up, let your team know so they can tell us. If your
team does not have enough players to play in the match, your team could
be disqualified from the tournament and possibly blacklisted from playing
in future tournaments.
Where should I be before my match?
Before your match you should be in the tournament server lobby. The
tournament server’s IP is “tm.oc.tc”. You should also be in your team’s
mumble room, waiting for a Referee to join and tell you where you should
go.
How do I know where and when my match is
starting?
Throughout the tournament we will release information regarding the
matches and you may find your team’s name in the list of times and
matchups. Around the time of your match, your room will be visited by a
Referee who will then tell you to get on a server to prepare for your
match.
Can other teammates listen in our channel if they are not
playing?
Yes, however, they must stay muted.
Can my non-playing teammates watch our
live-stream?
Yes, however, they must remain muted and they may not come in later as
a substitute if you lose a player.
Can I watch our matches live-stream while I play?
No, absolutely not. Evidence of any actively playing member of your
team watching the live-stream will result in a potential disqualification
and blacklisting of your team.
Can I go on the server and watch the matches?
No, you may not. You may however, watch the live-streams at https://oc.tc/live when an event is in
progress.
